Dental Insurance
Most dental care coverage places an emphasis on regular preventive care by covering small routine costs. A thorough examination by the dentist and a set of x-rays are all it usually takes to diagnose a problem.
Dental HMO and Dental Discount plans offer the advantage of no waiting period before coverage and or discounts apply whereas regular dental insurance will have specific waiting periods before basic and major services are covered. Regular dental insurance will also have an annual limit versus discounts on unlimited care which may be important when a significant amount of dental care maybe needed within one year.

DENTAL INSURANCE PLANS
Regular dental insurance plans usually provide the flexibility of selecting any dentist in-and out-of-network, which can be important if your current dentist does not participate in any PPO or dental discount network plan. These plans will normally cover preventive care at 100% with NO deductible or waiting period. A calendar year deductible of $50 or $100 will apply then coverage for basic service is at 80% after a 6 month waiting period, with major services at 50% after a 12 month waiting period. A calendar year maximum of $1,000 or $1,500 will apply per covered person.
